Big Tomato

72 Talbot Street West, Leamington

For decades, the Big Tomato in uptown Leamington has been a popular sight for tourists.

It was opened in 1961 as a collaboration between the Town of Leamington and the H.J. Heinz Company of Canada. It served as Leamington’s official tourist information booth for almost 60 years but was closed in 2019 due to structural concerns.

In early 2024, coinciding with the town’s 150th anniversary, restoration work was done on the Big Tomato so it can continue to serve as an iconic Leamington landmark.
