Kid-Friendly Fun in Leamington, Ontario

Leamington, Ontario is a fantastic destination for families, offering an abundance of activities and attractions that cater perfectly to kids. Here are some of the most popular places for kids to visit in Leamington: 

Seacliff Park
One of the most popular destinations in Leamington for families is Seacliff Park because of the various activities and amenities found there including a large splash pad, spacious playground and swings, numerous picnic tables and grills, and a walking path throughout the park. It is also home to Sunset Amphitheatre where there are many free concerts throughout the summer.  At the base of Seacliff Park is Seacliff Beach, a wide beach that includes a boardwalk, volleyball nets and two basketball courts.

Point Pelee National Park
A unique ecological gem, Point Pelee National Park is a must-visit for families. Children can immerse themselves in nature by hiking or biking scenic trails, exploring the marsh,  splashing in Lake Erie or walking to the Tip. The Visitor Centre has a number of engaging activities and exhibits, as well as a gift shop. At the park entrance, be sure to ask for an activity booklet for kids for added fun while at Point Pelee.

Beaches
In town, Seacliff Beach is a wide, sandy beach that can accommodate a large number of beach goers. It is popular with families due to its close proximity to Seacliff Park that provides even more amenities and activities.

Point Pelee National Park has a number of different beach areas, with Northwest Beach being one of the more popular options for families. Northwest Beach features a children’s play area, washrooms, change rooms, an outdoor shower and a pavilion. It’s also located in close proximity to the Point Pelee Marsh Boardwalk, another popular destination for families.

Seacliff Beach

Leamington Marina and Rick Atkin Park
At Leamington Marina and Rick Atkin Park, kids can enjoy the playground (new playground being built in 2025), watch the boat traffic entering and exiting the marina, and walk the promenade from the Marina to the Leamington Dock. Tip: While walking on the promenade, keep an eye out for fish in the water and snakes on the rocks.

Splash pads
Splash pads can be found at Seacliff Park and Mersea Park, both with washroom and change room facilities. The splash pads are typically open from late May to mid-September, weather permitting.

Children’s play structures can be found at Seacliff Park, Rick Atkin Park (Leamington Marina), Mersea Park and the Leamington Kinsmen Baseball Diamonds.

The Leamington skatepark, located at the Kinsmen Baseball Diamonds, features a variety of concrete obstacles and ramps for skaters of all skill levels.
